About the Poster
In Closed Formation Next to Your Comrades (Russian: Строй сомкнув товарищами рядом) is a 1937 Soviet propaganda poster by Alexey Kokorekin (Russian: Кокорекин А.).
In the poster, a tank driver holding an excited boy on his shoulders. They're on Red Square for a military parade surrounded by soldiers and fighter planes flying overhead.
Below the main poster art reads the following text:
In closed formation next to your comrades
On the stones of spacious squares,
We walk along a holiday parade
Picking up children in our arms.
So that with song, flags, flowers,
The young country smiles
So that she blooms under the sky
Reflected in blue eyes.
Under the loud calls of orchestras
We walk along Red Square,
And we carry cheerful and happy children
Along with our banners...
