About the Poster
Lenin Illuminated the Great Path for Us! (Russian: Ленин великий нам путь озарил!) is a 1978 Soviet propaganda poster by Mikhail Getman (Russian: Гетман М.А.).
A god-like Lenin figure dominates the image, as he appears to be giving a rousing speech to the whole world. In many different languages the following words appear: Peace (Мир), Labor (Труд), Socialism (Социализм), and Workers of the world, unite! (Пролетарии всех стран, соединяйтесь!).
Notably, the background image of the globe shows the Soviet Union red, and the rest of Europe - including the Warsaw Pact countries - in blue.
